Counting down to Guardian Powers #1
Posted by David 2 on November 20, 2011
As we get closer to the debut of the new “Guardian Powers” series this week, let’s take a look at the election that turned a hero into the city’s newest District Attorney…
Although the storyline election lasted only about two months, the actual process of coming up with the election, never mind selecting a winner, spanned well over a year. Circumstances dictated that I put the idea of doing the election to the side while I worked on “Time and Changes” and “Galatea Dawning”, but once those were taken care of, I knew that I had to put effort into having the election.
The results shown in “Guardians of the Dawn AFTERMATH” and in the above newspaper page are real, and reflect the actual voter turnout of those that participated in the live ballot that was available on this website. Notices of the election were present in the City of Heroes Forums as well as the City of Heroes deviantART group and the City of Comic Creators website. The nature of the ballot system also prevented duplicate votes from counting, so the results you see are the ones chosen by the “voters”.
Of course, now that he is the District Attorney, the main question is what does he do now? And how does this affect his position with the other Guardians? And what about the other candidates?
All of these will become clearer when “The Guardian Powers” #1 debuts either on or around this coming Thanksgiving Thursday!
