About the Comic Series
“Guardians of the Dawn Spotlight” is a fan-based “City of Heroes” comic book series which focuses primarily on individual members of the Guardians of the Dawn supergroup. The stories are not necessarily about their origins as much as they are about some of their day-to-day activities.
How the series is made:
Each issue is made using screenshots of actual gameplay action. The issue is made using Microsoft Publisher, and then converted using a freeware program called PDF Creator.
In some situations, additional non-game images are used and modified via fair use. Other special in-game features (i.e. custom monitor screens, newspapers, signs) are added via an add-on program called Splasher. Other images are created or modified using the freeware graphic program called the GNU Image Manipulation Program (GIMP).
